I’ll start this article by saying that a stay at the Disneyland Hotel is a splurge, and I wouldn’t presume that it is everyone’s cup of tea. There are plenty of reasons not to stay here, as well as a boat load of options and choices to stay elsewhere on your vacation to the Disneyland Resort.

However, if you are curious about some reasons why families would choose to take the plunge and stay at this hotel, here are our top three…

Experience the Disney ‘Bubble’ in Classic Style

On our last stay our room was in the Fantasy Tower.

The theming for each tower is carried through nicely, even to the background for your room number.

The ‘bubble’ is the experience you get when you are completely immersed in all things Disney. When you stay in one of the on-property hotels at the Disneyland Resort, you never leave the bubble. You aren’t jarred back into reality by the neon lights of chain restaurants and convenience stores.

For some people this is a bigger deal than others. Personally, I like my vacations heavy on fantasy, with little to no reality…but that’s just me.

I also love the classic style of the Disneyland Hotel. You’ll stay in one of three themed towers. My favorite tower is the Frontier Tower, though it has plenty of naysayers out there, being the furthest to walk to.

Family of Five? No Problem!

A family of five can be problematic when traveling. It wasn’t always this way, as I grew up in a family this size. As long as there was enough room for my brother to camp out on the floor, we were good.

Society seems to embrace a lot more rules and regulations these days. Combine this with a daughter who is somewhat pickier about where she sleeps than my squirrel-y brother, and accommodations can be challenging for our family.

Many of the Disneyland Hotel rooms were made for families of five. With two queen beds and a sofa that easily converts to a twin bed, we all get a better night’s sleep…especially the princess!

One additional comment about the rooms at the Disneyland Hotel is that they are larger than most standard rooms. The foundation of this hotel is old, opening the same year as Disneyland. Though the towers have been remodeled over the years, they are still based on 1950’s architecture, which means a roomier stay.

The Pools are Perfection

Located in the middle of the three towers you’ll find the pool area. There is an E-Ticket and a D-Ticket pool, as well as both Mickey and Minnie hot tubs. There is also the popular Monorail slide area.

Our family loves to spend time at the pools. There are loads of loungers, plenty of towels, and usually a number of attentive life guards.

I look forward to relaxing here almost as much as spending time at the parks.

And there you have it – our top three reasons to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. Have you stayed on-property at the Disneyland Resort? I’d love to hear your comments on social media!
